Product: TrueAuto platform

This article includes recommendations that can be effective in helping you to achieve a streamlined experience using TrueAuto. You can implement some of these techniques independently or reach out to IT help if you are still struggling with freezing issues. Before you proceed with any fixes, here are some top reasons for slow loading websites:

  • Accumulated cache and cookies

  • Excessive browser extensions

  • Outdated web browser

  • Too many open browser tabs/windows

Things you can do on your own

Refresh the page

In a web browser, you can press the F5 key to refresh or reload the page every time it is slow to respond. F5 is a universal keyboard shortcut with various functions, including page refreshes, that can be used by any web user.

Clear Cache and Cookies

As time passes, the browser stores a lot of data from websites. Clearing cache and cookies can help free up space and improve speed.

Disable Unnecessary Extensions

Too many extensions can slow down your browser, which results in a slow loading time in TrueAuto. Therefore, disabling or removing the unnecessary extensions can help to optimize speed.

Update Your Browser

It is always best to ensure you are using the latest version of your web browser, as updates often cover performance improvements.

Limit Open Tabs and Windows

Opening too many windows/tabs commonly causes slow browsing performance. Each open browser window or tab requires system memory to run, and the more windows/tabs you have open, the more memory is consumed. This can slow down your computer's overall performance and responsiveness.

As your computer's memory becomes strained from multiple open windows/tabs, your browsing experience may become sluggish, with pages taking longer to load and the browser becoming more unresponsive.

Requesting IT Assistance

Ask for your Information Technology (IT) team’s help to see if they can do anything to improve your web-based experiences. Be clear about any freezing issues that you are facing and what needs to happen to bring about improvement. IT are the technical experts who can perform the necessary research to see what is wrong and hopefully resolve the issue.

Most of the time, IT will check memory usage and advise you to close any tabs that you are not actively using. Keep in mind that having a lot of active tabs can keep your computer on the toasty side. Whenever you open a new tab, certain Random-Access Memory (RAM) is allocated to the new tab. Requesting technical support is a smart move whenever you do not know a way to optimize your browser’s speed.
