Printing labels in TrueAuto meets the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) standards, and satisfies Trading Partner label specifications.
Based on label specifications, the TrueAuto label designer team will design labels for a variety of trading partners. In case your trading partner’s label specifications change, notify TrueCommerce so that the necessary changes will be made to comply.
Automotive Labels
Automotive labels, such as serial numbers and automotive component labels, are complex. These are not fun stickers typically made for aesthetic or promotional intentions. Automotive labels must be regulated, and if not printed or applied to standard, can mean hefty fines for an organization. Automotive manufacturers have to ensure they keep abreast of automotive labeling standards.
In 1984, in response to mass inefficiencies caused by a lack of standardization, the AIAG established a set of standards for the automotive industry. These standards set specifications for items such as:
Barcode height
Quiet zones around barcodes
Text dimensions
Symbol placement and height
Label height and width
Label durability
Label placement and orientation
Have you ever asked why barcode labels are always to be white, with black print? First, it’s less expensive. Second, the black-and-white contrast provides optimal results when using scanning technology. Third, the plain and high-contrast labels are needed for a population with some form of colorblindness.
Printing Labels
There are several areas where you can print and reprint labels in TrueAuto. The most common area is the Barcode Labels menu where you can print pallet labels and inner container labels. When you print labels, the serials will be generated by the system according to the selected Trading Partner’s specifications.
Following are instructions on printing labels in TrueAuto:
From the Customer Shipments menu, click Barcode Labels.
On the Customer Barcode Labels page, click the record that you want to print.
Click the Print icon to start the print job.
Serial Numbers are generated by TrueAuto, Serial records are created and stored, and the label is printed.
On the View Label page, click Print to print the label.
