What is Data Upload?

The manual master Data Upload process is designed for users who want a simple solution to import a Master Data file into TrueAuto without the need for integrating with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Some users prefer to extract master data from their backend database systems into comma-separated value (CSV) or Excel formats that can be processed into TrueAuto via its Data Upload feature.

NOTE: Before you begin, ensure that the Data Upload feature has been enabled for your account by TrueAuto administrators.

Uploading a Data File

To upload a data file, perform the following steps:

  1. Within the TrueAuto menu, select Tools > Data Upload.

  2. Under the Data Upload > Upload tab, upload a CSV file by either dragging and dropping it into the designated area or by clicking the link to select a file from your device.

  3. Once you have selected your file, click the Upload button.

  4. In the Confirm Data Upload pop-up, click OK to initiate the upload.

The system will confirm that the file is being uploaded by displaying a progress bar.

  5. When the upload is complete, the Data Uploaded pop-up will display. Click OK.

  6. You will automatically be directed to the Status tab, where you can verify the status of your uploaded file.

    • Failed upload: If the Status is Error, the file upload has failed. Click on the Error status to review the specific issues in the Data Upload Errors window.

    • Successful upload: If the Status shows Finished, your file upload was successful and the data is now integrated into TrueAuto.

Rolling Back Data

You can only roll back the most recent data upload of a specific type. For example, if you have uploaded two separate address data files, only the changes from the second file can be rolled back.

NOTE:

  • Records marked as Error Status are NOT eligible for rollback.

  • Only perform a rollback for the fields that have been changed, not for new records.

To initiate a rollback, follow these steps:

  1. Within the TrueAuto menu, select Tools > Data Upload.

  2. On the Data Upload screen, switch to the Status tab.

  3. Select the Upload ID that you want to roll back (e.g., Upload ID 779) and click the Rollback button.

  4. On the Confirm Rollback pop-up, click OK to proceed.

This action will revert the data from the selected upload (Upload ID 779) to the previous upload (Upload ID 778).

The Status of the Upload ID 779 record will change to Rolled Back, and the data will be restored to those of the previous upload.
